New blood test study aims to spot ovarian cancer earlier

NCT ID NCT02326064

Summary

This study tested new blood markers and calculation tools to help doctors better tell the difference between benign (non-cancerous) and malignant (cancerous) ovarian tumors before surgery. It involved 221 women who were scheduled for surgery to remove an ovarian cyst that was thought to be benign. The goal was to see if these new methods could lead to earlier and more accurate diagnosis of ovarian cancer.
