Could a pill let you start labor at home?
NCT ID NCT05177510
Summary
This study is testing if a medication called mifepristone can safely start labor for pregnant women at home, instead of requiring a long hospital stay. It aims to improve the birth experience and reduce hospital time, which is especially helpful during times like the COVID-19 pandemic. About 400 women will be randomly assigned to receive either the medication or a placebo pill along with standard care.
