Hospital-Free cancer treatment? outpatient CAR-T therapy shows promise

NCT ID NCT05459571

Summary

This study tested a personalized immune cell therapy (called axicabtagene ciloleucel or CAR-T) given alongside preventive steroids to people with aggressive large B-cell lymphoma that had returned or not responded to prior treatments. The main goal was to see if giving this powerful therapy in an outpatient clinic, instead of requiring a hospital stay, was safe and effective. Researchers closely monitored 35 participants for severe side effects and how well the cancer responded.
