New study aims to boost opioid addiction care with better tracking

Summary

This study looks at whether a new quality measurement strategy can improve treatment for opioid use disorder in New York State. Researchers will interview patients, families, and providers, and survey clinics to see how the strategy affects care. About 35 adults aged 18 and older who are in substance use treatment programs will take part. The goal is to reduce emergency visits, hospital stays, and deaths related to substance use.
