Can a photo replace a Nurse's In-Person check? study tests new ostomy skin tool

NCT ID NCT06614491

Summary

This study tested a new tool for assessing the health of the skin around an ostomy (ileostomy, colostomy, or urostomy). Researchers wanted to see if nurses could reliably score skin health by looking at a photo, compared to doing an in-person exam. They enrolled 605 adult participants to create a dataset of stoma photos and compare the two assessment methods.
