Braces breakthrough: fresh extraction sites may speed up tooth movement
NCT ID NCT07445321
First seen Mar 04, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study looked at 34 people getting braces who needed all four first premolars removed. It compared how fast and how much the gaps closed when teeth were pulled just before braces (fresh sites) versus waiting for the gums to heal first (healed sites). The goal was to help dentists decide the best timing for extractions to shorten treatment time.
