Summary
This study looked at whether orthodontic appliances that widen the upper jaw can also improve airway size and palate shape in growing children. Researchers compared 55 children who received treatment with 24 who did not. Results showed that treatment increased some airway measurements and changed palate shape, but long-term benefits are still unknown.
