Faster braces? study tests wire shape to speed up treatment
NCT ID NCT07243509
Summary
This study aimed to find a faster way to move teeth during braces treatment for a common type of overbite. Researchers compared two different shapes of metal wires (round vs. rectangular) used in braces to see which one allowed the canine teeth to slide back more quickly and with better control. The trial involved 38 young adults who needed to have premolar teeth removed as part of their orthodontic plan.
