Dental devices may open up Children's airways

NCT ID NCT07456917

Summary

This study looked back at whether two types of dental expanders could improve the shape of the upper airway and palate in growing children. Researchers compared 55 children who received either a removable or fixed expander against 24 children who had no treatment. They found the expanders widened the upper jaw and increased some airway measurements, suggesting they might help modify these structures during growth.
