Scientists use new genetic mapping to uncover hidden causes of cleft lip and palate
NCT ID NCT06880094
Summary
This study aims to better understand the genetic causes of orofacial clefts (cleft lip and palate) using advanced optical genome mapping technology. Researchers will examine DNA from 26 participants with clefts who don't have an existing genetic diagnosis. The goal is to identify hidden genetic variations that might explain why these conditions occur, which could lead to better understanding and future treatments.
