Summary

This study tested whether adding a special coating (organosilane) to regular cleaning of surfaces in intensive care units (ICUs) could lower the number of infections patients get while in the hospital. Over 10,000 adult patients took part. The goal was to see if this extra cleaning step makes ICUs safer.
