Simple tweak to childhood surgery may reduce risks and time

NCT ID NCT07319637

First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study looked at 60 boys with an undescended testicle that could be felt in the groin. Doctors compared two versions of the standard surgery: one where a small sac near the testicle was tied off, and one where it was not. The goal was to see if skipping the sac tying made the operation shorter and lowered the chance of problems like infection or hernia. The results help surgeons choose the safest, simplest approach for these children.
