Could a glass of water replace an IV drip in the ER?
NCT ID NCT07361952
Summary
This study is testing whether drinking plain tap water can be as effective as receiving fluids through an IV for emergency room patients who need hydration. Researchers will compare 250 adult patients who are randomly assigned to either drink water or get standard IV fluids. The main goal is to see if both methods deliver the same prescribed amount of fluid and if this type of comparison study is practical to run in a busy emergency department.
