Pill vs. IV drip: new trial tests easier chemo for advanced breast cancer

NCT ID NCT03315364

Summary

This trial is testing whether a new oral form of the chemotherapy drug paclitaxel (Liporaxel) works as well as the standard intravenous (IV) version (Taxol) for people with recurrent or metastatic HER2-negative breast cancer. The main goals are to see if the pill form controls the cancer for as long and is as safe as the IV infusion. This could offer a more convenient treatment option for patients.
