New pill aims to ease painful neck spasms

NCT ID NCT06830642

Summary

This study is testing a new oral medication called MTR-601 to see if it is safe and can help reduce symptoms for people with cervical dystonia, a condition that causes painful, involuntary neck muscle spasms. About 80 participants will take either the new pill or a placebo daily for 4 weeks, followed by 2 weeks of monitoring. The goal is to see if the pill can improve symptoms as measured by a standard rating scale for the condition.
