First seen Apr 30, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study will check 120 adults for two types of tiny parasites in their saliva and gum pockets. Researchers want to see if these parasites are more common in people with gum disease (gingivitis or periodontitis) compared to healthy gums. Participants will give a saliva sample and have a dental exam. The goal is to learn more about how these parasites might affect oral health.
