New pill offers hope for older patients with Tough-to-Treat esophageal cancer

NCT ID NCT07435454

Summary

This study is testing whether a chemotherapy pill (oral paclitaxel) combined with radiation is safe and effective for patients with advanced esophageal cancer that cannot be surgically removed. It focuses on older patients or those too frail for standard intravenous chemotherapy, often due to severe swallowing problems. The goal is to see if this combination can help control the cancer and improve survival.
