First oral norovirus vaccine tested in moms to protect babies

NCT ID NCT07254728

Summary

This study tested a new oral vaccine designed to protect against norovirus, a common cause of stomach flu. It involved 76 healthy, breastfeeding women who received either the vaccine or a placebo. The main goals were to check the vaccine's safety and to see if protective antibodies produced by the mother could be passed to her baby through breastmilk.
