Ointment vs mouthwash: which soothes radiation mouth sores better?
NCT ID NCT07186114
Summary
This study compared two topical treatments for painful mouth sores (oral mucositis) caused by radiation therapy. Thirty-six adult patients with these sores were randomly assigned to use either MEBO ointment or Tantum Verde mouthwash three times daily for two weeks. Researchers measured changes in pain, ulcer severity, and eating ability to see which treatment provided better relief.
