New pill may offer relief for painful mouth condition

NCT ID NCT07131813

Summary

This study is testing if adding an oral medication called tofacitinib to the standard steroid ointment helps people with moderate to severe oral lichen planus. The goal is to see if the combination works better to reduce mouth pain and sores, and if it allows patients to use less steroid ointment, which can have side effects. About 60 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the real add-on pill or a placebo pill along with their standard ointment.
