New hope for painful mouth sores: study tests safer treatment options
NCT ID NCT06260904
Summary
This study compared two add-on medications, apremilast and methotrexate, for treating moderate to severe oral lichen planus when used alongside standard steroid therapy. It involved 64 adults who hadn't responded well to steroid creams or injections alone. The main goal was to see which drug was better at reducing pain and controlling the condition over 12 weeks, while also comparing their safety profiles.
