Gum inflammation may reveal clues about hepatitis b and d

NCT ID NCT07491848

First seen Apr 04, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study looks at how gum disease and hepatitis B and D infection affect each other, and whether the drug bulevirtide changes that relationship. Researchers will measure signs of inflammation in saliva and gum fluid from 25 adults, including people with hepatitis B+D (some on bulevirtide, some not) and healthy volunteers. The goal is to better understand the connection between oral health and liver infection, not to test a new treatment.
