Dental records may reveal hidden signs of child abuse
NCT ID NCT05772962
Summary
This study looks at existing dental records to learn about the oral health of children who may have experienced abuse or neglect. Researchers will compare records from 2,400 children enrolled at advocacy centers with a matched control group. The goal is to identify possible oral indicators of maltreatment and see if better coordination is needed between dental services, child welfare, and advocacy centers.
