New pill tested to stop painful swelling attacks

NCT ID NCT04618211

Summary

This study tested an oral medication called deucrictibant for quickly relieving painful swelling attacks in people with hereditary angioedema (HAE). Seventy-four participants with HAE took either the study drug or a placebo pill at home when an attack started. Researchers measured how well and how fast the drug reduced skin swelling, skin pain, and abdominal pain compared to the placebo.
