First look: testing a pill version of an ALS drug

NCT ID NCT04176224

Summary

This small, early-stage study tested how the body absorbs and processes an oral liquid form of edaravone, a drug used for ALS. It involved 9 Japanese patients with ALS to measure drug levels in the blood and check for safety. The goal was to understand how the drug behaves in the body when taken by mouth, which could be more convenient than the current intravenous (IV) infusion.
