Swallow, Don't swab: early trial tests oral vaccines for COVID and flu
NCT ID NCT06355232
Summary
This early-stage study is testing whether protein-based COVID-19 and influenza vaccines can be given as drops under the tongue or in the mouth instead of as a shot. The goal is to see if this method is safe and can trigger a strong immune response in the lining of the nose and throat, which might better prevent infection and spread. Over about 4 months, 100 adult participants will receive both vaccines in a crossover design.
