Scientists track mouth bacteria to predict cancer treatment success

NCT ID NCT07111455

Summary

This study aims to understand how the community of bacteria in the mouth changes when patients with advanced oral cancer receive a combination of chemotherapy and immunotherapy before surgery. Researchers will follow 32 patients to see if these bacterial changes are linked to how well the tumor shrinks and how long patients survive. The goal is to gather knowledge that could help predict treatment outcomes, not to test a new treatment directly.
