Pill vs. IV drip: new hope for treating serious infections at home

Summary
This study is testing if a pill called pivmecillinam works as well as standard treatments for serious urinary tract infections that cause fever. It involves 560 adults who are already in the hospital and have started to improve after a few days of antibiotics given through an IV. The main goal is to see if switching to the oral pill leads to the same recovery rate as continuing with standard IV or other oral antibiotics, which could allow patients to leave the hospital sooner.
