First seen Jan 20, 2026 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study looked at whether changing where the CT scanner focuses during a lung scan can allow doctors to use 40% less contrast dye. 72 adults having a special lung CT scan were randomly assigned to the standard method or the new method. The goal was to see if the new approach still produces clear images of blood clots in the lungs while using less dye.
