First seen Feb 21, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study looks at whether breathing a lighter gas mixture (heliox) can reduce the feeling of breathing difficulty and improve thinking during stressful tasks. Researchers will test 15 healthy adults who exercise regularly. Participants will breathe normal air or heliox while doing attention and reaction-time tests to see if the gas helps them think faster and feel less out of breath.
