NCT ID NCT06817421
First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tests whether a pneumococcal vaccine (Pneumosil) can produce a strong immune response in children aged 6-59 months hospitalized with severe acute malnutrition. 214 children in Timor-Leste will be randomly assigned to receive either the pneumococcal vaccine or a typhoid vaccine (control). All children will later receive the other vaccine to ensure everyone benefits. Researchers will measure antibody levels over 12 months to see if the pneumonia vaccine works well in these vulnerable children.
