Scientists hunt perfect painkiller dose for men and women after major surgery

Summary

This study aims to find the best dose for a timed epidural pain pump used after major open abdominal surgery. Researchers will test different doses in 60 patients to see which one provides the most effective pain relief with the fewest side effects. They are testing men and women separately to see if the ideal dose is different for each.
