New diagnostic criteria for optic neuritis put to the test in 500 patients

Summary
This study enrolls 500 people in China who have sudden or worsening vision loss where optic neuritis (inflammation of the optic nerve) is suspected. Researchers will check how well the 2022 International Criteria for Optic Neuritis, alone or with an antibody-based tool, can correctly identify the condition. No new treatments are given; all care follows standard practice. The goal is to improve diagnosis and reduce mistakes.
