Doctors probe brain pressure link in common ear surgery position
NCT ID NCT07407972
Summary
This study aimed to understand if lying on your side during a common type of ear surgery (tympanoplasty) affects pressure inside the skull. Researchers used a simple ultrasound scan to measure the optic nerve in the eye of 53 adult patients before, during, and after their surgery. The goal was to gather new information, not to test a treatment, to see if this surgical position needs special monitoring.
