New pain block could get cancer patients to chemo faster

NCT ID NCT07153614

Summary

This study is testing different methods to manage pain after major cancer surgery, with the goal of helping patients recover their bowel function faster so they can begin follow-up chemotherapy sooner. Researchers will compare three pain-blocking techniques to see which one best reduces opioid use and speeds up the path to chemotherapy. The study involves 200 adults undergoing surgery for abdominal cancers who are scheduled for chemotherapy afterward.
