Nerve block could slash opioid use after major surgery

NCT ID NCT07178262

Summary

This study is testing whether a specific nerve block, called an Erector Spinae Block, can reduce the need for strong opioid painkillers after a total abdominal hysterectomy. Researchers want to see if this approach lowers pain and common opioid side effects like nausea and constipation, helping patients recover more comfortably. The trial will involve 60 women having elective surgery.
