NCT ID NCT04758637
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study tested a simple idea: if doctors are reminded about the negative effects of opioid misuse, will they prescribe fewer opioids? Researchers sent letters to 61 clinicians highlighting patient overdoses. The goal was to see if this approach could reduce the number of opioid pills prescribed. The study did not involve any new drugs or treatments, but rather tested a behavioral strategy to improve prescribing safety.
