New anesthesia method aims to ease recovery from lung surgery

NCT ID NCT06310785

Summary

This study tested whether using an anesthetic drug called esketamine, instead of traditional opioid painkillers, could improve recovery for patients having minimally invasive lung surgery. It involved 84 adults undergoing surgery to remove lung nodules. Researchers compared the esketamine-based approach to standard opioid-based anesthesia to see effects on breathing, pain, nausea, and mental recovery after surgery.
