Heart surgery without morphine: a new path to faster recovery?
NCT ID NCT03816592
Summary
This study tested a new approach to anesthesia for heart surgery that avoids using morphine or similar opioid painkillers. Researchers wanted to see if this 'opioid-free' method could reduce the need for strong painkillers after surgery and help patients recover better with fewer complications. The trial involved 110 adults undergoing heart surgery with a heart-lung bypass machine.
