First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tested whether using a combination of dexmedetomidine and lidocaine instead of strong opioids like fentanyl can keep blood pressure more stable during brain tumor removal. It involved 86 adults aged 18-50 undergoing surgery for tumors in the upper part of the brain. The goal was to see if this opioid-free approach reduces dangerous blood pressure spikes and side effects.
