Scientists test if new pain drug is less addictive than oxycodone

NCT ID NCT06453265

Summary

This study aimed to understand if a new drug called cebranopadol, when snorted, has a lower potential for abuse than the powerful painkiller oxycodone. Researchers compared how much 48 healthy recreational opioid users liked the feeling from cebranopadol, oxycodone, and a placebo. The goal was to gather safety data to help develop a new pain medication that might be less addictive.
