New drug tested to ease debilitating pain from shingles

NCT ID NCT06708416

Summary

This study is testing an investigational drug called ONO-1110 to see if it can safely reduce pain in Japanese adults suffering from postherpetic neuralgia, a type of long-lasting nerve pain that can follow a shingles outbreak. About 140 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the drug or a placebo for 8 weeks to compare their pain levels. The main goal is to see if ONO-1110 is more effective than the placebo at lowering average daily pain scores.
