First seen Jan 12, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study tested if online gut-directed hypnotherapy could help adults with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) whose symptoms did not improve with standard treatments. Fifty participants received group hypnotherapy sessions led by a nurse over the internet. The main goal was to see if symptoms like stomach pain and bloating got better, and the study also looked at anxiety, quality of life, and how satisfied patients were with the treatment.
