Your own cells could stop Cancer's return: major trial tests personalized vaccine

NCT ID NCT02448173

Summary

This study is testing a personalized vaccine called OncoVax to prevent colon cancer from coming back after surgery. The vaccine is made from a patient's own cancer cells and is designed to train the immune system to attack any remaining cancer. The trial will enroll 550 patients who have had surgery for Stage II colon cancer to see if the vaccine improves survival and prevents recurrence.
