First seen Apr 17, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study tested two non-drug approaches for temporomandibular disorder (TMD), a condition causing jaw pain and stiffness. Fifty adults with TMD were randomly assigned to receive either osteopathic manipulative treatment (gentle hands-on therapy) or a structured home exercise program. Researchers measured changes in pain, jaw movement, posture, and quality of life to see which method worked better.
