Summary

This study tested a fish oil emulsion called Omegaven to treat liver disease in children who depend on long-term intravenous (IV) nutrition. The goal was to see if it could lower high bilirubin levels, a sign of liver damage. The study included 36 children with cholestasis who were expected to need IV nutrition for at least another month.
