First seen Mar 17, 2026 · Last updated Jun 05, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study tests whether drinking an omega-3 enriched nutritional supplement for 21 days before major abdominal cancer surgery can reduce complications like infections and shorten hospital stays. The trial will include 28 adults with peritoneal carcinomatosis (cancer in the abdominal lining) who are scheduled for cytoreductive surgery and heated chemotherapy. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the omega-3 drink or a standard supplement, and researchers will track their recovery and side effects.
