Fish oil and aspirin may boost gum treatment in smokers

Summary
This study tested whether taking omega-3 supplements and low-dose aspirin, with or without doxycycline, can improve standard gum treatment for smokers with advanced gum disease (stage III periodontitis). 45 smokers participated. The goal was to see if these add-on therapies reduce pocket depth and improve gum attachment. The study is completed, and results may help manage gum disease in smokers.
