New hope to stop recurrent infections and cut antibiotic use for spinal cord patients

NCT ID NCT06588010

Summary

This study is testing if a non-antibiotic treatment called OM-89 can prevent urinary tract infections (UTIs) in adults with spinal cord injury who use a catheter. The goal is to see if OM-89 reduces how often participants need antibiotics for UTIs over one year. About 110 people who have had at least 6 UTI treatments in the past year will be randomly assigned to receive either OM-89 or a placebo.
