Heart stent showdown: which eye works better?
NCT ID NCT03394079
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study compares two ways to guide heart stent placement: OCT and IVUS. Both use a tiny camera inside the artery to help doctors place stents more precisely. About 2,000 people with blocked heart arteries will be randomly assigned to one method. The goal is to see if OCT is as good as IVUS at preventing heart-related problems like death, heart attack, or the need for another procedure within one year.
